Jon Kasunic

Jon Kasunic's career has been a diverse one. Playwright, speechwriter, producer, and entrepreneur, Jon started his career in 1982 at Ketchum Advertising where he worked as a copywriter on such accounts as Gulf Oil, Heinz U.S.A., and Rubbermaid.

In 1985, "Kaz" opened a film production company, Longfellow Productions, now Uptown Production Group, which for more than two decades has been one of the nation's leading producers of high-end television commercials (NFL, Mandalay Bay Resorts, GNC, UPMC), corporate and institutional films, and documentaries.

In 2001, he co-founded sunKING, a 100% digital advertising agency that produced cutting edge online work for the likes of Coca-Cola, Heinz, Dean Foods, Transitions Optical, and Limited Brands. In May 2010, Jon and sunKING partner Brian Lorence, the shop's chief creative technologist, left to form Agency1903, staying in the same 8,000 square foot building in Pittsburgh's Uptown section, and adding an office in South Florida and Las Vegas. Tom Megalis, a long-time creative partner of Kasunic, joined the team in January 2011 as the agency's Chief Creative Officer.

Kasunic continues to write and produce for 1903, as well as manage the day-to-day for the company. He's known to tell a war-story or two, but is now strictly limited to one a week by his younger, greener associates.
